Sebastiano Toma is a producer and director in the field of physical and visual theater. As a freelance theater maker and set designer, he has staged and produced a diverse array of works including "Tiger Lillies Circus," "Balagan," "The Time Between," "The Tiger Lillies Freakshow," "Little Big World," "HEART," "Normal Life," and most recently, "BRAIN" & "PERZEPTION." In the 1980s, he was based at Kampnagel Hamburg with the "Fliegende Bauten Company." From 2012 to 2022, he served as the artistic director of the European Youth Circus Festival in Wiesbaden. As a co-author of the Manifesto of the Contemporary Circus in Germany, he advocates for the integration of New Circus as a vital component of supported culture.
He is also involved in drawing, photography, and editing, often incorporating these skills into 2D animations for various projects.
His production "Balagan" received the Herald Angel Award for Best Production at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
